Line Manager HR Guide for staff (who are not volunteers).
New starters must be checked against the document preventing illegal employment.
New starters must be given a contract, with the various appropriate sections filled in. The standard text in the body of the document must not be changed without prior agreement with the General Manager. A signed copy of the contract should then be sent to the general manager for holding in the employees' HR file.
New starters must be shown (with you present), the Staff wiki site, and sent an e-mail with a link to the site. They should sign the ###### form to say that they are aware of the site. The form should then be sent to the General Manager for holding in their Staff file.
You are responsible for performing an annual appraisal for each of your staff. Please refer to the Line Managers Guide to Annual Appraisals for details.
If it should be necessary do enter into a disciplinary procedure with a member of staff, please read, and follow, the procedure set out on the wiki. Make sure you record all the required information as part of this process. If in doubt, contact the General Manager for advice.
