Amounts below £2,500

Wherever possible, payments should be made directly from donors to recipients. In the UK, staff and volunteers should be able set up a sovereign account with Stewardship, which will help them reclaim tax on the gifts they receive from donors.

If for some reason this cannot happen, 24-7 prayer may be able to assist in getting the payment from a donor to the recipient. If a recipient wishes to take this route, there will be a 5% charge to cover administrative costs, and there must be evidence provided for the work that the recipient is doing (e.g. a brief document on involvement in Transit, a short personal supporter update, a project bulletin etc.)

If the recipient is on the 24-7 UK payroll and receiving regular support to cover part of their salary, the administrative fee may be waived.

Amounts of £2,500 or greater

For larger gifts a report on what the money is to be used for, including some form of accounts to indicate what the funds have actually been spent on, is required. We are legally obliged to be able to show our auditors (and/or any HMRC inspectors) that the money has indeed been used for the charitable purposes for which 24-7 exists.

If the money is to be sent to a UK account, the administrative fee is 4%, and will be capped at £250. If the donation is to be transferred internationally, or if there is a significant amount of administrative work required to support the transfer, there may be additional charges to cover costs.

Processing of personal support and one-off donations to individuals and ministries are entirely at the discretion of the General Manager.
